The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time Information

The National Theatre's award-winning adaptation of Mark Haddon's novel is back on a London stage, playing for seven weeks at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre. Don't miss out on this extraordinary production: plan your trip and get booking tickets. Curious Incident tickets are now available on London Theatre.

Haddon's novel, published in 2003, took the world by storm. It centres on teenager Christopher Boone, a maths and science whiz who finds other aspects of the world difficult to navigate; although the author never spells it out, it's generally accepted that Christopher is on the autistic spectrum. The plot plays out like a mystery, as Christopher investigates who stabbed his neighbour's dog Wellington - a quest that leads him far beyond his home, and which also helps him to better understand his parents.

A novel that is so strongly defined by its protagonist's voice and viewpoint is extremely difficult to translate to stage, especially when it's a character like Christopher who scorns metaphor. But the Curious Incident play is a triumph, with Simon Stephens' brilliantly conceived adaptation using a clever framing structure to dramatise the tale.

Additionally, Marianne Elliott's empathetic and immersive production, which opened at the National in 2012, employs numerous theatrical devices to help us understand Christopher's experience, including inspired movement work from Steven Hoggett and Scott Graham, set design by Bunny Christie, lighting from Paule Constable, and video by Finn Ross.

The production went on to win seven Olivier Awards, and the Curious Incident West End residency included runs at three different venues. It also played on Broadway, winning six Tony Awards, and in numerous other countries around the world. Read our latest Curious Incident London review here.

Now, we've got a Curious Incident London production once again, as the play is revived at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre ahead of the 10th anniversary UK and Ireland tour. This impressive new venue was once a TV studio, and is now a flexible theatre space which has hosted the likes of the Sleepless in Seattle adaptation, Sleepless: A Musical Romance, and another National Theatre transfer, War Horse

Tickets are available now, so don't delay. Book your Curious Incident tickets at London Theatre now.
