Les Misérables: The Staged Concert Information

Lucie Jones, Jon Robyns and Bradley Jaden will star in the special concert production of Les Miserables in London at the Sondheim Theatre this summer. The concert production will run at the Sondheim Theatre.

The concert production of the Les Miserables musical first opened temporarily at the Gielgud Theatre in summer 2019, running from 10th August 2019 while the Queen's Theatre, now renamed the Sondheim Theatre was refurbished.

Les Miserables: The Staged Concert includes Jon Robyns as Jean Valjean, Bradley Jaden as Javert, Lucie Jones as Fantine, Shan Ako as Éponine, Harry Apps as Marius, Gerard Carey as Thénardier and Josefina Gabrielle as Madame Thénardier.

Les Miserables premiered at the Barbican Centre in 1985 directed by Trevor Nunn, and starring Michael Ball, Patti LuPone, Colm Wilkinson and Roger Allam. It then transferred to the Palace Theatre during the same year after sweeping success, and then to the Queen's Theatre in 2004.

Who has previously starred in Les Miserables: The Staged Concert?

Michael BallHe originally was in its London premiere at the Barbican in 1985. Ball played Marius Pontmercy in the original production, which quickly transferred to the Palace Theatre in the West End. Ball will play Javert in this special concert production of the musical.

Alfie Boe: He has previously played Jean Valjean in the musical. Ball and Boe have previously toured the country together on numerous occasions, and have released two number one albums together. Boe has previously performed the role of Jean Valjean in the musical at the Queen's in 2011. 

Carrie Hope Fletcher: Her Les Mis journey began in 2001 as Young Eponine. She returned to the production in 2013 to play the older version of the character, and will take on the role of Fantine in the show in this concert production. Fletcher recently starred as Veronica in the West End production of Heathers the Musical.

Matt LucasThe Little Britain actor played Thénardier in the concert after he played the part at a 25th anniversary concert of the show in 2010, and then took on the role in the full West End production in 2011.

John Owen-Jones will perform as Valjean on Tuesday nights and Saturday matinees throughout the show's run.
