The A Christmas Carol play is a new adaptation. This new adaptation comes from the Olivier Award-winning playwright of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Jack Thorne, who returns to the theatre following Woyzeck, alongside Old Vic artistic director Matthew Warchus at the helm.
Based on Charles Dickens' beloved work, the play follows Ebenezer Scrooge on Christmas Eve, when he is visited by three ghosts, each showing him either scenes from his past, a view of the present of a peek into the future forcing the grumpy business owner to reevaluate his priorities and take stock on his life, just in time for Christmas morning.
A Christmas Carol London is at the Old Vic for a sixth consecutive year. Previous actors to play Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol include Stephen Mangan, Andrew Lincoln, and Paterson Joseph. A Christmas Carol transferred to Broadway, and won five Tony Awards.
Tickets to A Christmas Carol will be available soon.
