The Chickenshed Theatre was established in 1974 by musician and composer Jo Collins and Mary Ward, a teacher and director, in a chicken shed! In December 1994, the company moved into a newly built flexible space. Chickenshed is a producing company with its own venue called Chickenshed Theatre. Chickenshed bring together people of all ages and from all backgrounds to produce outstanding theatre that makes audiences and creatives think, ultimately producing positive change. Chickenshed runs children’s and youth theatres for over 800 young people, offering over 250 performances per year.
