The Menier Chocolate Factory Theatre opened in 2004. It is located in a former 1870s chocolate factory and is made up of a theatre, a rehearsal space, as well as an on-site restaurant and bar. The Menier Chocolate Factory opened with Americana Absurdum, but has been home to UK premieres including Tick, Tick... Boom!, The Color Purple and The Last Five Years. Many musicals staged at the Menier Chocolate Factory transfer to the West End, including Sunday in the Park with George and Fiddler on the Roof
