Wembley Arena is directly adjacent to Wembley Stadium in North West London, close to Wembley Park tube station. Built in 1934, this 12,500 capacity venue once held a swimming pool built for the Empire Games – hence its former name, Wembley Empire Pool. The pool was pressed into service once again for the 1948 Olympics.

In the 1960s the Arena hosted the now-legendary annual New Musical Express Poll Winners' concerts. Acts from the golden age of British pop including The Beatles, Cliff Richard & The Shadows, Joe Brown & the Bruvvers, The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, and The Who played to thousands of screaming fans at these events. The 1965 NME Poll Winners’ concert was the only occasion when the Stones and the Beatles played on the same bill.

Among the countless world-class performers and large-scale entertainment shows to have graced the Arena’s stage since then are Abba, Bob Dylan, Madonna, Beyoncé, Walking with Dinosaurs and Ice Age Live. More recently, the Arena was chosen to host the Badminton and Rhythmic Gymnastics events at the 2012 Games.

Today, Wembley Arena enjoys consistent success and has established a unique reputation for presenting large-scale music concerts and sporting events.

Following reconstruction, the venue reopened in 2006 with a newly built Square of Fame in front of the Arena building. Performers at the Arena are encouraged by the Arena’s organisers to have bronze plaques with their names and handprints embedded into the Square. On August 1 2006 Madonna made history by being the first star to have a plaque placed there.

The sheer scale and decades of experience behind Wembley Arena make it the perfect place to see your favourite pop and rock groups and king-size theatrical entertainment events. Recent successes include Taylor Swift, Shakira, Westlife and The Saturdays.

Whatever you decide to see at Wembley Arena, we wish you an entertaining and rewarding visit.
