The theatre dates from in 1871. It is best known for holding the annual summer Proms concerts since 1941. The Royal Albert Hall is a world-leading venue for music, dance, sport and politics, and is visited by over 1.7 million people annually. The venue is also home to the Elgar Room, which is a smaller performance space for intimate, cosier concerts.
