Vaudeville Theatre

The Vaudeville Theatre opened in 1870, designed by C.J. Phipps. The Vaudeville Theatre is on the Strand, close to the Adelphi Theatre and the Savoy Theatre. Like many West End theatres, the Vaudeville has been closed for a prolonged period of time to allow for renovation work. The current theatre that stands opened in 1926, and has seen plays including Hedda Gabler and Private Lives.

The auditorium has three levels - Stalls, Dress Circle and Grand Circle.

Overall, the Stalls offers very good views of the stage. The view is affected from Row M onwards by the overhang of the Dress Circle. There is a light raking in the seating throughout the Stalls which helps with sightlines, and the legroom is good too.

Apart from the extreme side seats, the Dress Circle offers good views of the stage, and feels close to the action due to the intimate size of the theatre. View from Row G onwards are affected by the overhang of the Grand Circle.

Though the theatre is small, the Grand Circle feels quite far from the stage.
