'Wicked' announces new cast, including Lucie Jones as Elphaba

The new cast will begin performances on 1 February.

A new cast will join Wicked in the West End in the New Year, with Lucie Jones leading the cast as Elphaba. The new cast will take over in Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre from 1 February, with Wicked tickets on sale now. 

Lucie Jones takes over the role of Elphaba from Laura Pick. Jones' West End credits include Waitress as Jenna and Les Miserables as Fantine. Ryan Reid will take over the role of Fiyero, with Sophie-Louise Dann as Madame Morrible and Gary Wilmot as the Wizard. 

Helen Woolf will return from maternity leave to play Glinda in Wicked, resuming the role she played before the pandemic. Carina Gillespie continues as Nessarose, alongside Nicholas McLean as Boq, Simeon Truby as Doctor Dillamond, Amy Webb as the Elphaba standby and Charli Baptie as the Glinda standby. 

The full cast is completed by Yuki Abe, Kofi Aidoo-Appiah, Meg Astin, Alishia-Marie Blake, Pàje Campbell, Grace Chapman, Michael Colbourne, Fergus Dale, Nolan Edwards, Nicola Espallardo, Danny Fogarty, Laura Harrison, Amie Hibbert, Lucie Horsfall, Samuel How, Christian Knight, Nick Len, Jasmine Leung, Rhidian Marc, PaddyJoe Martin, Jessica-Alice McCluskey, Stacey McGuire, Harry Mills, Lewis Newton, Natalie Spriggs, Samantha Thomas, Joe Thompson-Oubari and James Titchener.

Laura Pick, Sophie Evans, Alistair Brammer, Kim Ismay and Andy Hockley play their final performances on 30 January. 

Wicked follows the lives of Elphaba and Glinda as they become the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West. It's based on Gregory Maguire's novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West and is adapted for the stage by Winnie Holzman. Wicked celebrated its 15th anniversary in the West End earlier this year.

 Joe Mantello directs Wicked, with scenic design by Eugene Lee,costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kenneth Postner and sound design by Tony Meola.

Wicked is at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.
