& Juliet extends booking period at the Shaftesbury Theatre to October 2020
After & Juliet's West End premiere in November of last year, the musical will run for an extended booking period at the Shaftesbury Theatre to October 2020. Featuring a soundtrack of contemporary pop hits written by Max Martin over recent decades, & Juliet sees the story of the titular character as known from Shakespeare's tragedy undergo a journey of self-discovery.
& Juliet extends booking period
& Juliet will now play at the Shaftesbury Theatre for an extended booking period to 3rd October 2020. Following a limited engagement at Manchester Opera House, the musical was first performed in London on 2nd November 2019, ahead of an official opening night on 20th November 2019.
& Juliet cast
The lead role of Juliet is played by Miriam-Teak Lee, who rose to fame when she gave an award-winning debut performance in On The Town at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre. She was later cast in the ensemble in the original West End production of Hamilton, also covering all three Schuyler sister roles.
Oliver Tompsett and Cassidy Janson play William Shakespeare and Anne Hathway respectively, with Melanie La Barrie as the Nurse and David Bedella as Lance.
Jordan Luke Gage stars as Romeo, who will also be performing at The Other Palace in concert later this year.
The cast is completed by Jocasta Almgill, Josh Baker, Alishia Blake, Rhian Duncan, Ivan De Freitas, Danielle Fiamanya, Kieran Lai, Nathan Lorainey-Dineen, Arun Blair-Mangat, Tim Mahendran, Jaye Marshall, Grace Mouat, Antoine Murray-Straughan, Kerri Norville, Christopher Parkinson, Dillon Scott-Lewis, Kirstie Skivington and Alex Tranter.
Max Martin songs
The soundtrack of & Juliet is comprised of some of the greatest hits written by Swedish songwriter Max Martin, whose chart-topping songs include "One More Night" by Maroon 5 and "Blank Space" by Taylor Swift.
The & Juliet soundtrack features some of the biggest hits from recent years, including "I Kissed A Girl" by Katy Perry, "Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd and "Problem" by Ariana Grande".
